Hi again kids! This time we are going to talk about another type of solar energy... Photovoltaic solar energy! Let's see: It consists in the direct transformation of the solar radiation into electricity. In this case, the solar radiation is caught thanks to the solar panels. They are composed of photovoltaic cells connected between them. In addition, each solar panel is also connected to another one, like the cells. Important : these installations are so big, so they cause environmental impact. Advantages: They don't pollute the atmosphere. They don't cost too much money now. Their efficiency is so high.

This type of energy works using the solar heat. Important : the energy that comes from the sun has to be caught and transferred to another medium, like water or air. Thermal solar energy installation It has some basic elements: Collector : it collects solar radiation and heats the water that travels through a closed circuit. Exchanger : it heats the water that we consume thanks to the heat caught before. Accumulator : it retains the hot water. Circulation pumps : they pump the water from the collector and the accumulator. However, this type of installations needs a support system because the sun doesn't shine all day! Advantages: Its installations work more than 25 years. Its maintenance is simple. They help us to safeguard the planet.
